Chance or Opportunity?

Many times the word “Chance” could be associated with…Scary, Losing, Pain or something Negative.

Opportunity, on the other hand, could be associated with having more or doing more. Positive feelings come when we think of the word “Opportunity”.

Everything you try or do on a daily basis requires a certain mindset to attempt it in the first place.

You dress yourself, because someone once taught you how and now you do it.

When we realize that we are capable of learning new things, then we will attempt more in life.

There isn’t anyone who has done everything on their own. We all need help and someone to teach us. This is why it is important to realize that anyone from a young child to someone at the end of their life can teach us. Sure, we would all like to have that one mentor who walks with us throughout our lives and teaches us the way of the world. The reality is that everyone is our mentor.

What could you learn from standing behind someone in line?

What could you learn from watching a kindergarten class perform a school play?

What could the sales clerk teach you from your interaction with them?

What could you learn from the way the person in the commercial responded or acted?

Our teachers are all around us. We have to be willing to use all of our senses to grasp what is happening around us every second of every day.

So many people do not try something new, because it is out of their comfort zone. Having a routine is nice, but sometimes that is also where depression comes in. We start looking at our lives and realizing that it is boring or that we could be doing so much more.

It is in those times that we need to reevaluate where we are and where we are going. We must be willing to change the set of the sail and allow the wind to blow us in a different direction.

How many times do you watch people doing things and think, “I could do that!” or “I wish I would try to do something like that.”

You can! Just make up your mind to do it!

Maybe that is the purchase of a new skateboard or sewing machine. Maybe it a gym membership or an airplane ticket. Maybe it is simply driving to a new destination for a hike or photography session.

Some of the things we want to do cost more money and some of them might actually save us more money. Others could lose us money or make us a lot more money!

Life is about LIVING!

Look at life as an opportunity. It is a mindset. We have the ability to change our minds whenever we want.

Go out and change your life for the better!

Be the example that others need to see, so they will do the same.

You won’t regret it…I promise

Persistence – by Brad Rhame

How many times can you remember when success came from sticking with something for just a little longer.  Each of us can remember at least one, or at least I hope so.  Persistence is a proven part of the formula for success.  By not giving up on a job, client, sales pitch, friend, or hobby we have seen where loyalty and persistence has paid big dividends.

The one thing to keep in mind is that after persistence has paid off, consistent action must take over.  This failure happens most often in weight loss and sales.  We work so hard to get to a certain goal and then reward ourselves by taking an “extended” break.  This break leads to old habits creeping back into our lives.  These old habits then return us back to where we began…or at least close to it.  This can then lead to a negative outlook on being able to get back to a successful lifestyle again.

That is why persistence is so important.  Even after reaching our goals, we must keep a persistent mindset everyday.  Success will come, when day after day we take continual disciplined action…also known as Persistence

Failing to Succeed – by Brad Rhame

Where did we get the idea that failing is bad?  Organized education…that’s where.  Every time you chose the wrong answer it was marked wrong.  If you misspelled a word or wrote a sentence wrong it was marked off.  With every try there is a chance that you will get the wrong answer.  That doesn’t mean you are stupid.  It means you now know what doesn’t work.

I am not against education by any means.  The problem with our education system is that it trains you for twelve years to not mess up…or else.  We leave high school feeling like that is what the world expects too, but it doesn’t.  The people I follow, listen to and take advice from are successful because they failed.  They tried and tried and tried until…until they got it right.

So many are not willing to fail, because of an old mindset that has been pounded into them from childhood.  You are now free to release that mentality.  I know it’s hard, but go ahead and let it go.  The world needs people like you who are willing to fail in order to find the answer.  If an enemy is standing outside your door, but you do nothing to stop them from breaking in, then your hope may be your demise.  BUT if you stand up and try different ways to stop them and finally succeed…then you have Failed in order to Succeed.  It may take different paths and multiple tries, but in the end you will succeed.  It is the man or woman who never gives up that I will follow, respect and honor.

If you are looking into the mirror everyday and wondering when your time will come, then begin today to change.  Do something, anything to change where you are into where you want to be.  Maybe it is doing five minutes of exercise to get the body you want next year.  Maybe it is writing a sentence today in order to publish a book next year.  Maybe it is making that one extra phone call each day to make more money in a year.  It can also be as simple as reading one motivational quote each day to change your perspective a week, month or year from now.

If you have already made these changes in your life, then please inspire someone else with that same motivation.  Success is what you make it.  So, go and Fail…to Succeed!
